1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide Directly
For All Users (Riders and Drivers):
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and profile picture
- Payment Information: Credit/debit card details, bank account information (processed securely through Stripe)
- Communication Data: Messages exchanged between riders and drivers, customer support inquiries
Additional Information for Drivers:
- Identity Verification: Legal name (first, middle, last), date of birth (for age verification - must be 21+), and Social Security Number (SSN) for background checks (stored encrypted)
- Contact Information: Complete address (street, city, state, ZIP code), emergency contact details (name, phone number, relationship)
- Driver's License: License number, issuing state, expiration date, license class, and images of your license
- Vehicle Information: Make, model, year, color, VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), license plate number, registration expiration date, and vehicle photos
- Insurance Information: Insurance provider, policy number, effective and expiration dates, and insurance card images
- Background Check Information: Driving history, years of experience, any accidents or violations, and consent for background verification
- Availability: Your preferred working days, hours, and maximum hours per week
B. Information We Collect Automatically
- Location Data: GPS coordinates for pickup/dropoff points, real-time location during active rides, and route information
- Background Location (Drivers): When you have an active ride, we collect location data even when the app is in the background or closed, including latitude, longitude, heading, and speed
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, browser type, IP address, and app version
- Usage Data: App features used, ride history, search queries, preferences, and interaction patterns
- Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens for sending notifications about rides, messages, and updates
- Voice/Video Call Metadata: Call duration, participants, and connection quality (calls are not recorded)
- Error and Crash Data: Technical information about app crashes, errors, and performance issues to help us improve the service
2. How We Use Your Information

- Provide Services: Match riders with drivers, process ride requests, enable navigation, and facilitate deliveries
- Process Payments: Charge riders, pay drivers, manage tips, and prevent fraud

With Other Users
- Riders see: Driver's first name, profile photo, rating, vehicle details (make, model, color, license plate), and real-time location during rides
- Drivers see: Rider's first name, profile photo, rating, pickup/dropoff locations, and contact information for the ride

4. Background Location Tracking
For drivers with active rides, we collect location data even when the app is running in the background or the device is locked. This is essential for:
- Providing riders with accurate real-time tracking of their driver
- Calculating accurate fares based on distance traveled
- Ensuring safety by knowing driver locations during rides
- Sending arrival notifications to riders
What We Collect: Latitude, longitude, heading (direction), and speed, updated approximately every 25 meters or 5 seconds.
How to Control: Background location tracking only occurs during active rides. You can go offline in the app when not accepting rides. You can also revoke location permissions in your device settings, though this will prevent you from completing rides.
5. Voice and Video Calls
Our app enables voice and video calls between riders and drivers through Stream.io. We want you to know:
- Calls Are Not Recorded: We do not record the audio or video content of calls
- Metadata Collected: We collect call duration, participants, and connection quality for service improvement
- In-App Only: Calls are made through the app to protect your personal phone number
6. Biometric Information
We collect profile photos from all users and additional photos from drivers (license, vehicle). These photos:
- May be used to verify your identity
- Are displayed to other users during rides for identification purposes
- Are not used for facial recognition technology
- Are not shared with third parties for biometric analysis
7. Google APIs Usage
Our use of Google Maps APIs is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We use Google Maps to:
- Display maps and routes
- Calculate distances and estimated arrival times
- Provide turn-by-turn navigation
- Search for addresses and places
- Estimate traffic conditions
8. Data Security
We implement robust technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:
- Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Secure Authentication: We use Clerk for secure, industry-standard authentication
- Sensitive Data Protection: Social Security Numbers and financial data are encrypted with additional safeguards

9. Data Retention

- Location Data: Retained for 90 days after ride completion, then aggregated/anonymized
- Messages: Retained for 2 years after the associated ride
- Payment Records: Retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations
- Driver Documents: Retained while active and for 3 years after account closure

All Users

Our services are primarily operated in the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.
We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place when transferring data internationally, including standard contractual clauses and compliance with applicable data protection laws.
